A lot of time has passed since our last Software Performance Meetup and in regard to recent developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, it will be quite some time before we can come together for a Meetup at a real world location again. Despite all of this, we would still like to offer the Software Performance Community a platform for exchange. Therefore, we’re happy to announce our first virtual Meetup on 24th November! The Meetup will be held using Microsoft Teams and further details will be announced shortly before the Meetup. In this meetup, we will introduce the OpenTelemetry Java Auto-Instrumentation, which is a free tool that can add tracing to your Java applications.

You may register for the meetup on our Meetup page.

Update – the slides of the Meetup’s demo are now available for download:

OpenTelemetry Java Auto-Instrumentation

As the increase in remote work resulting from contact restrictions also had a huge performance impact on many IT systems, we want to introduce you to a newly available free tool that helps you to keep track of the performance of your Java-based applications. Therefore, Bernhard Lubomski (RETIT) will introduce you to the newly available OpenTelemetry Java Auto-Instrumentation agent in a hands-on session that will equip you with all things you need to get it up and running on your applications.
